Board of Trustees
Board Secretary - Michael Santschi
Michael is an attorney and works in a local Joliet law office. Practicing primarily in the areas of municipal law and code enforcement, Michael possesses an understanding of how local governments work that is helpful to both JMS and its Board. This year, Michael is excited to be serving on the Advancement Committee, where he will be continue to help the Board develop a strategy that will encourage healthy and sustainable increases in enrollment and other sources of revenue.
At present, Michael has three children - two boys and a girl. Anthony, Michael's eldest, started with JMS in January of 2018 and currently learns in the Oak Room. Charlie, Michael's second boy, started with JMS in September of 2018 and currently learns in the Maple Room. Elizabeth, the newest addition to Michael's family, is not quite JMS eligible as of yet, but we're working on that.
Michael joined the JMS Board because he believes that primary education is critically important for the development of children into happy, healthy, and high-functioning citizens. Further, he deeply believes in JMS' Montessori approach, which encourages self-reliance, self-motivation, and problem-solving.
