Step One:  For applications to the Primary (preschool) program, the parent or guardian will come to the school to observe a Montessori class in session and receive an application packet. This packet includes the Application for Admission, Child Development History, Reading Material Recap, Partnership Agreement and the Extended Care Request (if applicable). The child must be at least 2 ½ years old to proceed.

Applications for the Elementary and Adolescent Programs will be processed on an individual, case-by-case basis.

Step Two:  Submit the completed application packet with a $100.00 non-refundable enrollment processing charge.  A $500.00 tuition deposit is also required at this time, which will be applied toward the child’s tuition upon acceptance.  In the event that the child is not placed, this deposit will be refunded.  Extended Care Requests require an additional $50.00 deposit, which will be applied to the final month’s Extended Care Invoice.

Step Three:  The JMS Administration and Faculty will review the completed application to assign a classroom.  The classroom director will then contact the family to schedule an interview.  This interview provides the opportunity for the parents and the child to establish a relationship with their guide, further their understanding of JMS and the Montessori Method and address any curriculum questions.

Step Four:  Within one week of the interview, JMS will notify the family whether or not the child has been granted placement.  Upon acceptance, the family will receive their registration materials.  All forms must be completed and submitted prior to the child being considered officially registered.

All deposits, tuition payments and fees become non-refundable if the application is withdrawn by the family once placement has been granted.

If placement is not immediately available, the family will be notified and may choose to be either placed in the “Applicant Waiting Pool” (with no guarantee of future placement) or to have their application withdrawn and tuition deposit returned.
