All programs are offered Monday through Friday, from the end of August to the beginning of June.

Primary Program

For children ages 3 and 4

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Joliet Montessori's programs are designed to satisfy individual learning needs. The primary curriculum is divided into six areas: practical life, sensorial, language, math, science and cultural subjects. Children are engaged in activities to help them learn in all areas of the curriculum.

The child who completes the Montessori three year primary program has developed the self-confidence, motivation, and sense of direction that will aid them in their future academics and foster their love for learning.

 Full Day Primary Program

For children ages 5 and 6

9:00 am - 3:00 pm

This program is the conclusion of the three year Montessori primary curriculum. Joliet Montessori believes that a child upon turning five is ready for a full day in the Montessori classroom. The full day experience provides the child with a social environment which fosters a sense of community.

Academic work flourishes in the smaller afternoon setting (approximately 10 children). Each child has more time and attention to pursue his/her learning. The child's ability to concentrate expands as he/she works on special projects in every area of the classroom.  Children who complete the Primary Program are fully prepared to take their place in the Elementary classroom.
