POD Dinner

JMS' first  annual Parent Orientation Dinner was a resounding success!  Comments from attendees included, "I enjoyed the whole evening."  "Loved the auction."  "My favorite part was meeting other parents."

Parents gathered first for an overview of their students' classrooms.  The Primary and Adolescent parents met first and the Elementary classes met shortly thereafter.  Once the orientation was over, parents were escorted through the beautiful outdoor environment to the tent for cocktails and dinner.  During dinner an exciting live auction took place, with POD Chair Heather Bonacorda on the mic, doing an excellent job.  Top auction items were the quilt, created by the students of Mrs. Cornstubble's class (and put together by parent Jenny Dolph), and the birdbath constructed by the adolescent students.

Thanks to the members of the POD committee, Heather and Bill Bonacorda, chair-couple; Meredith and Chris Spesia; and Ann and Mark Streitz.  Members of the Development Committee that also helped with the evening success were Mark Villegas and Jeni White.  The evening raised over $5,000 for the school's campus expansion campaign.  Plans are already underway for next year, so if you have any ideas or experience items, such as tickets, gift cards or rental homes, you would like to donate, please contact Mrs. Sue Bebar, JMS Development and Marketing Director, at 815.741.4180.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 21st, for next year's Parent Orientation night...  An evening you will not want to miss.
